Dr Dre Sells His Beatz By Dre Company For $300 Million Dollars

Word on the curb is the hip hop mogul Dr. Dre recently sold a majority stake in Beats Electronics to HTC for $309 million dollars, giving a Taiwan-based company 51% ownership of the company that he co-founded with Interscope / Geffen A&M Records CEO Jimmy Iovine back in 2006…

“The HTC and Beats by Dr. Dre partnership is an opportunity for two world-class companies to redefine the smartphone industry and define the future,” stated Iovine. “For Beats by Dr. Dre, this represents a critical step in our continued mission to clean up the destruction of audio caused by the digital revolution and reengineer how sound is delivered, so the consumer feels the music the way that the artist intended.”

It looks like Dr. Dre is trying to take Jay Z’s #1 spot on Forbes “

50 Cent is rocking the cover of the April/May issue of Vibe Magazine and during his interview he opens up about his headphone beef with Dr. Dre as well as Drake getting robbed at this years Grammy Awards.

Do you think Dr. Dre really cares about your headphone line competing with his?

I have a strong personality, a strong character. And I can be difficult to deal with at certain points because I’m vocal. If you upset Em, he’s just gonna not talk to you. You’re not going to get him in the next room you wanna get him in. With Dre, the same. He’s not comfortable with friction. That [tweet] is, “Hey look, I’m here. Is everybody still paying attention?” So they go, “Why he say that? Why he say we mad?” Then the meeting happens.

Why should Drake have won a Grammy award this year?

He did a lot, man. I don’t believe that Drake would have been as successful or his project would have been as successful if Lil’ Wayne was home. That point where Wayne had to sit down provided a complete focus on Drake. [...]
I didn’t get it the year I was supposed to get it, for different reasons. I think the board is not young. They’re not hip. [In my case it was] just the choices to write the harsh reality. I point to that.

Rapper 50 Cent had a lot to say the other day on twitter about Dr. Dre & President of Interscope Records Jimmy Iovine.

According to 50, Dre & Jimmy are “MAD AT HIM” because of his latest business venture, Sleek By 50 headphones, which falls in direct compettion with the Beats By Dre headphones.

And 50 being no stranger to controversy decided to take to his twitter page to let his followers know that Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre seem to be a little pissed at him right now .

My Condolences To Dr. Dre And Family

On Saturday morning Andre Young Jr., son of hip hop star producer Dr. Dre was found dead at his home in Woodland Hills Ca. Andre Young Jr. mother went to check on him around 10am and he was unresponsive which prompted her to call 911. The cause of death is unknown at this time. My condolences go out to his mother, Dr. Dre and the rest of the family.
