Pop icon Janet Jackson is showing off her figure on the cover of Health Magazine December’s issue.

In the interview Janet talks about her weight issues, preference on acting & singing, & more.

On having her body criticized as a kid:

“When I did Good Times, they used to bind my chest because I was developing breasts at a young age… It immediately makes you think, ‘The way I am isn’t good enough.’ They thought I was too heavy and that I needed to lose weight. When I look back at the show, I was your average-size kid.”

On choosing between acting and singing:

“I have more of a passion for acting than I do singing, because singing comes so much easier to me. Acting is more of a challenge. I always say to people, ‘I’m really in the wrong business because I don’t like being in front of huge crowds, and I don’t like it when a lot of people are
looking at me.’”

On Hollywood’s obsession with weight:

“People tend to put entertainers on pedestals. We’re human beings, just like you… whether we have money or not, we still have bills to pay, we still have our stresses.”

On getting colonics at age 11:

“Once a month my mother would drive us to downtown L.A [for the procedure]. That played a big part in my life and career, because I learned at a very young age what discipline truly meant, to be able to pass up the French fries and the piece of candy.”

The middle eastern business man recently opened up to VMAN magazine about his relationship with Janet, his business affairs, and more.

On his relationship with Janet Jackson:

“I don’t date Janet Jackson. She is my girlfriend; there is a difference. She is a very special and talented woman who never ceases to amaze me.”

On his busy work schedule:

“I head the retail division [of the Qatar-based family empire, Al Mana Group]. I oversee new developments and I’m constantly working on interesting projects, one of them in design. I’m also pursuing an art project, and i’m involved in several charities.”

On working with Giorgio Armani:

“Mr. Armani is down-to-earth, very kind, and someone I admire for creating one of the largest luxury brands in the world from scratch.”

Janet Jackson made an appearance on BET’s 106 & Park yesterday to promote Tyler Perry’s new movie ‘ For Colored Girls’.

She also talked about her new book she has coming which talks about her weight loss & having low self esteem issues.

And I guess you can say Terrance was happy to see Ms. Jackson but then again who wouldn’t be happy to see Janet lol!!!

Janet Jackson is making her promotional rounds for new her new movie ‘For Colored Girls’.

She chatted it up with the ladies of ‘The View’ yesterday to talk about her role in the film, acting being her “first love”, and the future of her music career.

I was sad when I first heard the news about Janet Jackson & Jermaine Dupri breaking up because I thought they were the cutest couple. #Don’t Judge me!!!! For some reason I liked Janet & Jermaine together don’t ask me why I just did!!!!!

Janet was spotted in NYC recently with her new billionaire boo Wissam Al Mana. The two were walking holding hands down the street after their lunch date.

If you follow me on twitter, you know that I was in New Orleans this past weekend for the 2010 Essence Music festival.

On Friday night Janet Jackson performed live and gave her fans a show to remember. She had whips, chains and men on leashes while the crowd went crazy loving every minute of it.

The highlight of the of the show for me was when Janet appeared on stage in a flesh tone body suite (giving the allusion she was naked) and pulled a male audience member on stage, strapped him in a stray jacket and let the freak show begin lol.

The look on the gentleman’s face was priceless and thank god for that stray jacket because he looked like he was ready to “bust” out those restraints & give Ms. Jackson the bizness lol!

This was my first time seeing Janet in concert and I enjoyed every minute of her performance.

I love Janet & all but this new hair do is not working for her. I’m just saying it’s making her look every bit of her age 40 something . I think she should leave the short hair to Halle Berry & go find her a lacefront real quick…..I might have to kick Janet out of my “Hot Chick Over 40 Clique” if she keep rocking this short do!!!!!!

I’m still trying to figure out the real reason her and long boyfriend Jermaine Dupri decided to call it quits. I thought they made such a cute couple.

“When you hear people say life goes on, it’s really the truth. You can’t stop living. It becomes a part of you. I feel a bit selfish because there are times I feel I shouldn’t be doing this, but I enjoy my work and I have to keep doing it. I have to keep my life going. There are days that are harder than others.”

On her New Year’s resolutions:“I want to learn a language.

I haven’t decided which, but it’s between French, Spanish and Italian. I also want to get closer to God.”
On her new album:
“It’s going to be a little different. The writing is about life experiences. There’s a part of me that’s craving escapism, which is a sense of wanting to keep on moving with my work but also of coming to terms with reality. So I think it will be upbeat and light.”

On her new book:

“I hope it’s inspiring for all ages. I’m talking about weight loss, confidence, self-esteem—especially in your youth. It’s not an autobiography, but there are little anecdotes that I give here and there from my childhood all the way to the present that I thought would be interesting and helpful to share.”
On what she loves about New York:
“Everything. I love the energy–the creative energy. I’ve been here for 12 years and I will be here for the rest of my life.”
