The Queen of Hip Hop Soul Mary J Blige, was recently spotted in the UK making her rounds in London to promote her upcoming album “My Life II… The Journey Continues”.

She stopped by Kiss FM‘s radio station & chatted with air personality Clara to promote her upcoming project which will be in stores November 21st.

Mary also talked about working with my bff in my head Beyonce, as well as how she decided to put Nas, Busta Rhymes, Drake & Rick Ross on the album.

On working with Nas, Busta Rhymes, Drake & Rick Ross:

Well the thing is conceptually, with the music it tells you who to get. ‘Feel Inside’ was perfect we were like Nas is a no brainier & he killed it. And Busta Rhymes is always exciting he took the song to the next level. And Rick Ross once we played ‘Why’ for him before he was even on it he was like I just wanna do some ad libs. He had just done ad libs on it at first and everyone was waiting on him to rhyme and I was like I’m waiting for him to rhyme and we went back to him and he finished it so the track really told us what to do. And as far as ‘Mr. Wrong’ Drake does that singing/rapping thing real good so I was like Drake who else??? The music just really tells you what to do.

On working with Beyonce:

We didn’t get a chance to work together, the song came from Beyonce she gave me the song. She sent me the song through her people and her vocals was completely on the song. I’m like Ok what does this mean because the song was so crazy, I’m like are you playing this for me? And they were like yeah this song is for you. And I was like why don’t Beyonce want it because the song was so crazy and they were like well, she want’s to stay on it and I was like cool. I mean it doesn’t get any better than that I mean I love Beyonce she inspired me so it’s a blessing to have her on the record.

On staying true to herself:

What I’ve learned is that everything is not for everybody. I can’t force myself on things just because everyone else is doing it. I’m true to myself even with the clothes that I wear, the hair colors that I select, it works for me. So I can’t get caught up in that, it may work for everybody else but it don’t work for me.

The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul Mary J Blige hit the stage earlier today in New York City for a mini-concert in central park to close out Good Morning America’s summer concert series.

MJB performed a few of her hits including “Just Fine,” “Family Affair, “25/8” (the latest single off her upcoming album My Life II: The Journey Continues,) as well as “The Living Proof” which is the theme song from the movie “The Help”….

She also chatted about working with A List Hollywood actors like Tom Cruise and Catherine Zeta-Jones as well as her upcoming film projects, new music and her new fragrance which is in stores now.

R&B singer Mary J Blige put her heart & soul into her performance this past weekend as she closed out the show for the 2011 Essence Music Festival.

Mary hit the stage just after midnight & had everybody in the audience standing on their feet & singing along to her classic hits such as ‘Real Love,’ ‘Not Gonna Cry’, ‘I’m Going Down & more.

“I’mma keep saying it because I mean it. I’m not perfect, I’ve made mistakes in my life. Thank you for having faith in me when nobody else had faith in me.” Mary told the crowd after ending the show performing her hit single “Just Find”

Mary J Blige, had everybody in the building jamming to her performance. I caught half of her performance on the floor then I decided to go backstage & hang out inside Mc Donald’s Super Lounge to enjoy the rest of the show.

Mary has has come a LONG way since her “What’s The 4-1-1″ days. The Queen of Hip Hop & R&B has sold over 50 million albums worldwide.

I’m not sure how she celebrated her birthday, I just wanted to send one of my favorite singers some birthday love…

The Queen of Hip Hop & R&B Mary J. Blige is paying tribute to Diana Ross on the cover of Ebony’s 65th anniversary issue. Diana Ross graced the cover back in the 1970′s, and I think Mary captured her look very well wearing the same clothes & makeup as the legendary singer.

T.I. aka “The Kang” aka Tiny’s boo was spotted hanging out this past weekend at the 2010 Essence Music festival in New Orleans. I spotted T.I. at the concert on Sunday night chilling in VIP with his fiancé Tameka ‘Tiny” Cottle, comedian Lil Duval.

He surprised the crowd when he hit the stage with Mary J Blige to perform their hit single “Good Love”!!!!!

Speaking of Mary I spotted her earlier in the day in New Orleans with Carols Daughter founder Lisa Price at the Essence convention center signing autographs and giving out bottles of her new fragrance called “My Life”.

Mary collaborated with Lisa to launce the new fragrance and decided to name it after her second album “My Life”.
