Rapper Nelly is the latest celebrity to be featured in VH1?s installment of Behind the Music.

During the episode he talked about his absentee father, selling drugs after he secured his first record deal, losing his sister to her battle of leukemia, & his relationship with R&B singer Ashanti.

Nelly and Ashanti have always managed to keep details about their relationship friendship hush hush over the years.

In the upcoming special of VH1′s “Behind the Music” featuring Nelly, Ashanti opens up on how she met the Country Grammer rapper for the first time and how she played hard to get when he tried to push up on her.

“The first time I met Nelly he asked me for my autograph, but I think he was being sarcastic and I remember writing it down on the program,” recalls the R&B princess of running into her beau at a press conference for the 2003 Grammy Awards. “That picture has been in so many publications as something else but it all started out as a joke. For the record, it took him a long time to get my number.”

Nelly’s “Behind the Music” episode airs March 7 at 10 p.m. EST on VH1.

Nelly will be featured in the next installment of VH1′s “Behind The Music” airing on March 7th. During the episode he opens up about the death of his sister Jackie who lost her battle to Leukemia back in 2007.

It looks like things was getting a little hot & heavy with Nelly & Kelly in Cancun on the set of Nelly’s video “Gone”.

The two shot the video earlier this month with director Marc Klasfeld and according to Nelly the single will be a follow-up to their 2002 smash “Dilemma”.

“It’s kinda like an extension of the story, and still playfully having fun with it like we did with the first one.”

Nelly and his bff Ashanti was spotted ringing in the New Year at Haze nightclub in Las Vegas where he scheduled to perform.

Ashanti performed at the Rio off the Strip, however after her performance she jetted out to bring in the New Year & show a lil PDA in public with her bff Nelly.

A part of me like the fact that they keep people guessing about their relationship. However the nosy side of me wish they would just come out and say “ yes we are couple & so what, mind yall damn business”lol….

Last week Nelly did an interview with a radio station in Chicago and when asked about his relationship with Ashanti he claims they were never in a relationship.

“I’ve never said I was in a relationship, she’s never said she’s in a relationship, so I don’t know where they do that at, But the thing is, we’ve always admitted we’re friends. We hang out. She’s a sweet girl, very pretty girl, very talented, but she does her thing as far as her career and I’m doing my thing as far as my career”.

Ashanti decided to respond to Nelly’s claim after the 106 & Park 10th Anniversary special.

If you ask me Ashanti sounds a little salty, maybe that’s why she felt the need to address Nelly’s comments.

I think when it comes to relationships sometimes saying nothing is the best thing to do.

Yesterday St. Louis’s Hot 104.1 FM radio sent out a press release announcing rapper Nelly would be a new addition to the station’s line up.

Nelly will be taking over weekday afternoons from 3p.m. to 7p.m. and this gig is expected to last for about a month because he is only filling in for radio personality Staci Static who is on maternity leave.
